like the flowing river

be like the flowing river.
silent in the night.
be not afraid of the dark.
if there are stars in the sky,
reflect them back.
if there are clouds in the sky,
remember, clouds, like the river, are water.
so, gladly reflect them too,
in your own tranquil depths.

Jai, Windi, and I went to Central Park, one of the latest mall in Jakarta, this afternoon. It was the first time I been there.

My first impression: huge, god-y, fancy.

I must admit that it is well-designed. The huge and fancy mall, plus, what makes it special, the park.

It has a very beautiful park.

However, in spite of its beauty, one thing tickled me:

Why do we have to go to mall to enjoy this kind of beautiful and soothing park? Why can't we just have freely, a public-park? Or, aside from Benton Junction, why do we have to go to a mall to sit, relax, and hang out at an open cafe like in downtown walk at SMS? Most importantly, WHY do all we have is mall?!

Opening public parks or open cafes in public areas will make Jakarta a better city, tho.
