like the flowing river

be like the flowing river.
silent in the night.
be not afraid of the dark.
if there are stars in the sky,
reflect them back.
if there are clouds in the sky,
remember, clouds, like the river, are water.
so, gladly reflect them too,
in your own tranquil depths.

humans don't need the survival of the fittest law

this is one of the most precious things i learned during my seven-day-trip in Bali.

i got this during our social charity in Tenganan village's elementary school. i met a little girl, who was in the first grade, named Widyantari. looking at her made me so sad. she does not have any friends, she can't read alphabets (to write her name, she memorize the shape of the alphabets without knowing what alphabet it is), and she doesn't speak clearly (her voice is so small and she opens her mouth a little). but the worse thing is: she doesn't want to smile.

my friend, Grace, teaching Widyantari

i wonder why this kind of thing always happens in any society. even in my school there's a lot of persons like her. they are deserted and have no friends. life for them seem so sad.

thinking of it, the "survival of the fittest" law suddenly came up in my mind. yes, "survival of the fittest". for a moment i agree with it. it because they are not able to adapt well to their environment. that's why they lose in competition and not able to make friends.

but, one thing made me changed my mind and made me fought the law. humans don't need the law! if they apply the law, then it means humans have to destroy each other to have a better life. it does not suit with humans. instead, humans have to love and help each other to make a better world. if humans do, then there won't be any conflcts in this world, isn't it?
